“The redwoods, once seen, leave a mark or create a vision that stays with you always.” -John Steinbeck.
I don’t know why it’s taken me so many years to write a guest post. Maybe I just needed a confluence of events to come together to make it happen. And they sure did. Here’s how…
- Shortly after I returned from my blogging hiatus I learned that the fabulous Lisa Rough of Sacred Circle was gathering a tribe of women for a big, brave blog Hullaballoo. I immediately knew I wanted in but didn’t have a clue what I’d write.
- Some part of me needed to read a road trip book this summer, so I revisited Travels with Charley by John Steinbeck. This time I was captivated by Steinbeck’s visit to the old growth redwood forests of Northern California, a deep and sacred place for me.
- Suddenly, I had my topic and knew I would write about a defining moment in my life when a campground host whispered to me, “You know, a redwood tree will heal itself.”
- Today, I sit writing this under the shade of a redwood tree, as I embark on yet another visit to one of my favorite places on earth.
Put it all together and you have just the right combination of ingredients for my first guest post. I’d be honored to have you read it. Here’s the link:
